blood and grand
John Q is willing to do anything just to save the life of his son. He finds no other solution but to hostage the Doctor and force to do the heart transplant and put Michaels name in the list. Living without a choice, John Q hostage the Doctor and some of the people in the Emergency Room of the Hospital, he planned to donate his own heart for the sake of his son’s life if there would be no organ donor. When he was about to commit a suicide in order for him to donate his heart, a fax was received by one of the medical staff of the hospital containing a positive heart donor for Michael. The heart from the donor was immediately transplanted to Michael’s body. The transplant was a success. After the incident, John Q surrendered himself to the police and was judged guilty for kidnapping and false imprisonment.
If I were John Q, I would not do what he did. The end doesn’t justify the means. It doesn’t mean that because his reason was for good, and the result was also good it would make him right. There are plenty of ways to find a solution to his problem. He just lacked faith in God that’s why he has decided to Hostage the people inside the emergency room.
It somehow relates to the individuals claim to health care. John Q was seeking for his own claim to health. It was a big burden for John Q to have not enough money for him to claim health care for his son. The movie was great and we have learned a lot of things about moral issues and principles concerning the medical field. It was also an inspiring movie.
